Five Ways to Stay Warm this Winter

Keeping warm during the winter months does not have to involve turning up the heat temperature, or wearing a ton of clothes. Through all of the below tips it can become easy to warm up the room, your body and the house in order to stay warm this winter.

Keep the bed warm by using electric blankets or flannel sheets in order to heat up the bed before you got to sleep for the night. Not only will this help keep the bed warm for when you plan on going in to it, but it will help keep you warm throughout the night. Flannel sheets or an electric blanket can be purchases in a set from locations such as Wal-Mart, or a Bed Bath and Beyond.  These blankets and sheets come in a variety of colors or designs and sizes.

Put on your snuggie, that’s right, your snuggie. Even if you do not want to admit to having one, the snuggie is a fantastic way to keep warm this winter when it’s rather cold. The snuggie now comes in a variety of colors and designs, including favorite sports teams! If you have a favorite color, or the family member you know gets cold has one, this is also a great Christmas gift.

Another way to keep warm this winter is to invest in a desk heater to keep your arms and hands warm while working at home. The desk heater can be the perfect space heater to help keep your hands and arms and possibly your body from feeling cold while working on farming for Farmville, checking emails, or getting work done. To keep the hands warm will actually help the entire body feel warm as well.

It sounds easy enough to do but bundle up. This means wearing a long sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt or even a jacket. If your feet are what is cold then a pair of fuzzy socks or slippers is perfect to keep warm. Fuzzy socks come in a variety of colors and sizes for men, women and children. There are fuzzy socks available at the Dollar Tree as well for only $1. No matter what type of season it is, if you are cold you tend to put on an extra layer of clothing. So don’t forget that light sweater you wore in the spring, may also help you to stay warm this winter.

Make something hot to drink such as hot apple cider or hot cocoa. The truth is, a warm liquid will help keep our bodies warm, as well as our hands seeing as we will be holding a hot cup. When holding the hot cup of course be careful, same goes for when drinking. Don’t want burned hands or tongues this winter season.  Don’t want hot cocoa or apple cider? Try a hot cup of your favorite tea or drink a cup of coffee. Stop by your local Starbucks and see which special winter flavors they have, if out on the road.

These are simple ways to stay warm this winter, but they are guaranteed to work for everyone. The entire family will appreciate these tips, so be sure to share with them and friends this winter season. These tips will not only keep people warm, but help save on their energy bills eliminating over usage of heat.
