Coloring Pixels Game Review

Do you enjoy coloring as much as the rest of us? Do you like color number activities for your little ones or growing kids? Then Steam has a new game for your entire family. Coloring Pixels, is a fun and time consuming game that is a new take on a classic color by number pattern with a flare of the upcoming trend of Pixel Art

Finding yourself in a mood and needing something to do? Try playing some Coloring Pixels today. It's an easy way to kill some time for everyone, and it is fun for all. The game itself has a good game play. It's fairly simple to load, and it's got a beautiful and easy layout.

Once you launch the game, users can decide what resolution is best for their computers. I personally like to have mine full screen so it's a little easier to see and I'm not distracted. On the left side, all of the different coloring books can be found, as well as the settings and menu options. Before changing any of the in game options, I suggest trying a puzzle or two.

When I was playing I turned hints off except for the last 5 of any color. That was the easiest way for me to be able to get things done without getting lost in the mass of colors. Some puzzles have up to 75 different colors and some numbers are clustered together. The clustered can be difficult at times, so make sure you're paying attention to what you're coloring. Don't worry if you mess up though, there's an eraser for that [00 is the shortcut for the eraser] and it comes in handy. Especially if you get on a roll with the colors and make a little mistake.

There is a fun trick I learned throughout playing which makes the game a little easier and can help your 10 key skills. If you type the number out using the 10 key, it can change the color for you without having to use the mouse. It's a nice little game short cut that comes in handy on those moments where a bunch are clustered together.

Pros and Cons

Pro - Relaxing and creates a focused atmosphere

Con - Having to purchase other coloring books through Steam

Pro - Nostalgic feeling when playing as it can remind one of their childhood and color or paint by number books

Con - Original font for numbers is hard to read

Pro - Updated to be able to change the font type!
