Valentine's Day is upon us, and it is time to start planning ahead for the big day. While many
like to celebrate the day by giving their significant other gifts, flowers, or
chocolate, there are many other ways to celebrate the day, like a date night.
Perhaps you would rather do both a gift and a date, and that’s alright too.
Whichever is the case, the following are some easy Valentine’s Day date ideas
on a budget, which anyone can appreciate.
Cooking is
an easy and heartfelt way to celebrate the day with your loved one. It can be
done any time in the day, and will be a special treat. If you cook at home, you
can even make it a fun and playful encounter by throwing some ingredients at
one another. After all, the day is about love and laughter. If cooking is not
your forte, consider ordering in and plating it like a professional chef might.
Going for
a walk in the park can be more romantic than staying in. The two of you can
spend time together, breathe in the fresh air and relax while spending time
together. For an even more romantic setting, pick a place at the park to sit on
the grass and watch the sun rise or set. This is always a beautiful experience.
Make it a
movie night with any and all romance movies. Whether these movies are
from Netflix or the RedBox, the two of you can snuggle up and watch as much as
you would like. Make some movie snacks or something sweet to have while
watching the films. After all, who doesn’t love snuggling tight while watching
a steamy romance?
Make it an
adventure by making a Valentine’s Day scavenger
hunt. This is
not only a fun and exciting way to get your loved one feeling special, but they
too can have fun. Make the setting for the treasure hunt somewhere that is easy
to navigate. You can make a scavenger hunt as in depth as you would like.
Some
suggestions for treasure can be that brand new jewelry you got for her, or that
new watch you may have bought for him. No matter what the prize is, be sure not
to give in and tell them. Most importantly, help them if they get stuck, after
all, you know the answers to the riddles. Don’t let them get stuck.

While
these are all wonderful ways to spend your Valentine’s Day on a budget, V-Day
isn’t always about a significant other. Some folks like to give back to the
world and use this day to fill someone else’s life with love. This year spend
time volunteering at a local soup kitchen, or preferred organization that you
or your loved ones believe in. This is a great way to add love to the world and
let those who feel unloved, know they truly are in someone’s heart.

We normally celebrate Valentine's Day by doing what we always do. I think that once we had kids life changed. We are too tired but we should make more of an effort.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about your town, but have you tried looking nearby for discount cinemas? Here locally we have the Grand Sierra movie theater which shows movies for under $5. Maybe something like that. Make a day trip of it, and see a movie. :)

ReplyDeleteWe love to go geocaching. It's just a bit cold here in Michigan to do it. You never know how the weather is going to be come Feb. For Valentines day the hubs and I usually go out of town. We use that as a weekend getaway to recharge our batteries. I also tend to use it as a way for me to sample some new eats to write about on YumEating.com
