The Invisible Man starts off by introducing viewers to what seems like a perfectly normal couple. A few minutes after we see the home, we witness Cecilia "Cee," (Elisabeth Moss) trying to leave her (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) lavish home, in the middle of the night to escape his abuse.

From the moment she starts to escape, viewers find themselves on the edge of their seats. Cee was able to change her clothes, and grab a bag all in the time while he was asleep. Knowing he could easily wake up, she tried to go as quickly as possible. How did she make it out of the house and run all the way down the hill, to the road without getting caught, you might wonder? She merely escapes the clutches of her abusive partner when her sister Alice (Harriet Dyer) finds her in the middle of the road waiting at their spot. Cee, thinking she's free, she drops some items and goes on her way.

Though she escaped, she now suffers from agoraphobia, causing her to feel stuck inside afraid. We see a bit of this as she steps outside of her friend James' home to grab the newspaper. It takes her a while but we can cheer for her, as she starts to feel safe outside. Safe, is the operative word. Soon we find out her that Adrian (the abusive partner) has commuted suicide and left her a large amount of money. Of course she uses this money for good things like a college fund for James' daughter.

Cee and those around her are beginning to notice something isn't right, but they think that Cee has lost her mind. As the film progresses, Cee finds herself in a predicament that nobody can help her get out of. From the moment Cee goes into her ex's home and finds an invisible suit, you know things are going to get good. Without giving too much away, let's just say we go on an adventure of adrenaline.

Will our heroine find her way out of this mess? Watch the film for yourself and find out if it's Adrian or someone else taunting our poor Cecilia. The movie is filled with action, and the fight that Ce puts up will not disappoint. I found myself enjoying this movie from the beginning to the end. While there are not as many jump scares in this film, it's definitely a psychological thriller.

I was really hoping I would be able to see this movie in theater this year, but unfortunately as Covid has ruined a lot, it had also taken theater releases away. Luckily, I did get to rent this flick on the PS4 with my boyfriend and we made a movie night of it.
