5. Have a family book club. Everyone reads the same books.
6. Have a late night slumber party where kids and parents sleep in the living room. Fall asleep watching movies.

7. Let them join the Boys and Girls Club or some other organization like Girl or Boy Scouts.
8. Have a back yard BBQ with the entire family and let them invite their friends and their friends' family too.

I love to keep my kids busy in the summer. We do many of these things regularly plus we go to the beach very often.

ReplyDeleteWe go out geo-caching when the kids start to get squirelly. It's lots of fun, but even if the kids are in a mood, they know we can't stop looking til we find the cache! Usually by the time we do, they're in a much better mood!

ReplyDeleteWe keep pretty busy. I'm so thankful my kids have swim team for 2 hours every morning Monday through Friday. I think it totally helps keep them occupied.
ReplyDeleteFamily book clubs are fun. I'm rearranging the back yard to make a bar-b-q area in the back driveway on the large cement square. We can invite everyone. Together time is priceless!
ReplyDeleteThese are great ideas, and most of them very affordable. We love bowling, movies, movie nights in home, and we love to do a lot of cooking as well.

ReplyDeleteThese look like fun activities to help keep kids busy on their days off. My favorite thing to do as a kid was for my parents to simply turn on the sprinkler!
